At Playmates Preschools & Child Development Centers, your child’s safety, well-being, and development are our highest priorities. We are proud to meet and exceed the highest standards of quality in early childhood education. All of our centers are both West Virginia Tier III Certified and accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) — a distinction held by only the top programs in the country.
NAEYC Accreditation: A National Standard of Excellence
The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) is the nation’s leading organization for early childhood education quality. NAEYC Accreditation means that our programs meet more than 400 rigorous criteria across ten key standards, including:
-
Responsive and developmentally appropriate teaching
-
Strong family partnerships
-
Health and safety best practices
-
Ongoing assessment and curriculum alignment
-
Highly qualified, continuously trained staff
Why it matters:

Tier III Certification: West Virginia’s Highest Quality Rating
All Playmates centers are proud to be rated Tier III — the highest level in West Virginia’s Tiered Quality Rating and Improvement System (TQRIS), overseen by the WV Department of Health and Human Resources.
Achieving Tier III status means our centers:
-
Maintain low staff-to-child ratios
-
Employ qualified, credentialed teachers
-
Implement evidence-based curriculum
-
Conduct family engagement activities
-
Provide ongoing professional development for staff
Tier III certification is a clear sign of our commitment to offering more than just basic care — we provide an enriched early learning experience in a nurturing environment.
